I first heard tracks of of the new Matmos album earlier this year at a concert they gave at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston; excellent and engaging pieces live, it’s interesting now to listen to them sans the visual. I featured their track “Germs Burn for Darby Crash” tonight. As well, I included two tracks from recent purchases of mine: one quarter of the longer, extraordinarily sparse improvisations by Durrant, Lehn, and Malfatti; and an incredibly noisy piece by the duo Re:.
