April 26th Show

(apologies for adding this so late…)

A special two-hour edition tonight, as I filled-in at the last minute for Fro-Fro-a-Go-Go. So I started off with a long recording of a live performance from Christian Marclay, Yasunao Tone, and Christian Wolff—great mix of turntabalism and manipulated CDs. The rest of the show explored some older pieces, including the popular track “O Superman” from Laurie Anderson, an artist that I’ve known about for a long time, and understand quite well her position in the history of avant-garde music, but haven’t listened much to her pieces themselves.
