sigtronica moving…

… for the summer season. Now on Tuesdays at the early hour of 6-7PM, EDT (GMT-4), which means I have to be careful of language, given some of the tracks that I’ve gotten away with this past season…

Also, this will be my last season at WMBR, as I am finishing my master’s degree at the MIT Media Lab. I’ll be starting a PhD program in the fall in Information Sciences at Cornell University. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get a show on their radio station, WVBR, so sigtronica might not have a real-life, terrestrial presence next fall. Maybe an online-only podcast? Maybe integrate interviews? Not sure, but let me know if you, the listeners, have any ideas or suggestions. But there’s a lot left to be determined and I’ll keep everybody posted as I begin to figure things out.

Nick Knouf is the DJ and producer of sigtronica. He's been on WMBR nearly continuously since the Fall of 2004, first on a show called somewhere never travelled, then switching in the Fall of 2005 to sigtronica. He's currently a first-year master's student at the MIT Media Lab in the Hyperinstruments Group. His work and research can be seen on zeitkunst.org.
