July 3rd Show

Celebrating alternative protest music tonight with a longish piece from Godspeed You! Black Emperor. I wanted to play a track either from “slow riot for new zero kanada” or “f# a# oo”, but unfortunately both of those would involve swear words, which I am not free to play at the time of day of my show. So instead I played a track off the most recent release, “Yanqui U. X. O.” that has a title that I can’t say on the air. An empty protest, perhaps, but a protest nevertheless.

Also featured, a new work by Amy Denio, an extended drone session with accordian and viola provided by Eyvind Kang.

  1. Tasogare by Amy Denio. Tasogare. Public Eyesore.
  2. This Lamb Sells Condos by Final Fantasy. He Poos Clouds. TomLab.
  3. Basquiat by Bang on a Can & Don Byron. A Balad for Many. Cantaloupe Music.
  4. Motherfucker != Redeemer Parts I and II by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Yanqui U.X.O.. Constellation Records.
  5. The Space Waiter Proves Anything is Possible by Pumice. White. Stabbies, Etc..
  6. früher by Ekkehard Ehlers. Betrieb. Mille Plateaux.
